The precautions vary according to region where the radiotherapy is being given and also type of radiation. Usually no special precautions are required. All patients must understand clearly the reason for the radiotherapy, possible side effects, Dos and Don’ts from the treating radiation oncologist. Care of the local skin is an important aspect. Gentle handling of skin is required. Please avoid soaps, hard rubbing. Best is consult our radiation oncologists for more specific precautions. Weekly test of CBC is usually done.
